Provo City Library owns microfilmed copies of the Provo Daily Herald and its predecessors dating back to 1888 (with some years and issues missing during the first forty years).
Anyone is welcome to come to the Provo City Library and search the microfilm of The Daily Herald on their own. The machines and our microfilm collection are both located on the 2nd Floor of the Rogers Wing. Our microfilm readers have the ability to scan the microfilm and patrons can print or save their scans. Printing at the library costs $.10 per page for black and white prints and $.40 for color prints.
If you are not from the Provo area, we will be happy to mail you a copy of an obituary. Please fill out the Obituary Request Form to the right.
Please check the Utah County Obituary Index before submitting this form to make sure the obituary can be found in the Provo Daily Herald.
Patrons wishing to do their own research can try searching Utah Digital Newspapers, which has scanned copies of the Daily Herald as searchable PDFs from 1922-1977. Or they can also search Utah Newspapers from the Utah Press Association for articles from 2005 to current (there is a 2 week delay after publication).
